I am really excited to do the Walk for Life this Saturday. It has been fun raising money for it (which it’s not to late to give – see sidebar!) and fun recruiting more people to join us in the walk.
I also want to say a big Thank You to everyone who has given. I appreciate it and I know New Life Family Services does as well.
Our family is going to take part in a fundraising effort for New Life Family Services, a pregnancy crisis center in the Twin Cities. Please check out my fundraising page and pray about giving to this important ministry.
Their goal is birth for the little ones, rebirth for their mothers and fathers. That is something I’m very excited about! And I’m so glad that our whole family can take part and what a fun way to be able to give. If you would like to join us in the walk it’s Saturday, May 16th. Thanks for considering!
My favorite Christmas tradition that Dustin established when we were engaged is the Shramek Family Christmas Celebration. Basically he makes a bulliten and we have our own little Christmas service. We usually have candles glowing and a fire burning (if possible). Then we sing songs, pray and read some Scriptures together. Lucy’s first Christmas (she was 9 months old)- she applauded the Savior’s birth- that was all she could do! Last year she read a verse. I’m not sure what we will do this year but I am looking forward to it.

This week Lucy and I are visiting Boppa & Nana Christensen and Boppa & Nana Montag. Lucy is having a great time. I think she just wishes I would leave. At Mom and Al’s she asked me, “May you please leave this room Mommy?”. That is when she was laying in bed talking to Mom. Last night she didn’t want me to put her to bed just Kathy. So I’m a bit of an outcast. Do I mind having a break though? No, not really!
I want to post a picture but for some reason it won’t let me. Hopefully I’ll post some pics soon.
My brothers, Mitch and Jared and their families, visited this weekend. My brother Mitch had shaved his head and all the others just decided on a whim to join him. Dustin said it just seemed too fun to miss out on. He was regretting it the next morning when he had to go to church. Good thing he didn’t have to preach- I think it would have been too distracting for the congregation!
The other rite of passage was my little niece Zoe got her ears pierced. I think Jared and Emilie both regretted the decision- they can’t stand to see Zoe cry. I don’t think Jared had ever seen her cry like that- she’s such a good baby. She didn’t cry long at all. I thought Jared was going to faint- seriously! I felt kind of guilty because it was sort of my idea to do it!
I just couldn’t get into the last look. I’m thinking about going back to my original! We’ll see. I’m going to try this one out. Well I have a little pouks on my lap who keeps saying, “My do it!”
