Waiting

Adoption Update

Posted by: Kellie on: February 12, 2008

I thought since I hadn’t mentioned anything about our adoption I should give a little update.  The update is that there isn’t much to update on!  We have been viewed by several birth mothers who ended up choosing someone to parent their child but not us.  Sometime this month (hopefully we will know soon when) we will be viewed by two different birthmoms.  We continue to wait for God’s timing.

I have been thinking a lot on this text from Luke 18:  And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

This has affected me in two ways – 1) Keep praying and don’t lose heart – I pray to a merciful, good God and 2) it’s made me pray more for His justice – in doing so I have been asking Him to refine my desires for adoption.  I don’t think it’s wrong that one of my chief one’s is wanting another child but I feel He is adding more to it.  Maybe tomorrow I’ll write about what some of those things are!

Kelly, I can’t wait to hear more!

Thanks for the update Kellie, keep ‘em coming.

Hi Kelly, I was on Marcy’s blog and clicked on yours. Congrats on adopting. I know what you are going through and when the time is right God will answer your prayers. I still can’t believe that our daughter is home with us so soon and it has been a year. Our adoption process was so wonderful and we would do it again in a heartbeat. I do know the desire to have another biological child, but we just put it in God’s hands to decide. I know your process is a little different since you are doing an open US adoption and we adopted from Korea, but the emtions are still the same. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Just keep praying, God will answer.

PS…your daughter is beautiful, she looks just like you!

a good read Kel…

Matthew 7: 7 – 12
——————————————————————————–

7 “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
12 So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

Any other news?

truer words never spoken Jared!

I replied to ur comment on my blog. Didn’t know if you’d see it there, so I’m leaving a message here. I figure u’ll see this one. :-)

So you gave up blogging then?

She’s got more important issues to attend to Marcy. ;-)

Btw, how do you make ur name linkable like yours is, Marc? I’m logged in whenever I leave comments…

I have no idea! I think it is because I have a WordPress blog and it links all on its own when I’m logged in as such.

Kellie you must be sicker than a dog, you haven’t blogged in a week!

I have a wordpress blog too though…and when I come here to comment I’m logged in and coming from my own blog…
