Lucy got this toy the other day. Let’s just say she loves it! The amount of time she has played with it alone I would say it’s been worth it’s weight in gold! Last night we were visiting friends and Hosam said “Lucy what if I make you small and you can wear those clothes and ride in the carraige.” I thought she would love the idea but she was petrified! He said all I say in Abra Ca Dabra and your small- she ran behind me. It was hilarious! I said he can’t really do it- but I don’t think she believed me. Another scary side note I just heard her call the prince her sweet baboo (from when Sally calls Linus that in the Great Pumpkin- she has the book).

Overheard
Statements overheard the two weeks after Lucy had spent the weekend at my sister’s house.
I’m Mrs. Yoda.
Cooper (the dog) would lick up the swimming pool if he went swimming.
RyRy is saying booty, Mom. (as if she’s telling on him and acting as if he’s sitting w/ her)

Satisfy
I thought I better satisfy the people and post another blog! Just kidding! (see comments on last post!)
I have been really sick and that is one reason I haven’t posted. I did go to the Dr. two days ago and have an antibiotic- I really hope it kicks in soon- my nights have been terrible. Also for Lent Dustin and I have been “fasting” from internet and email at night. Since that is the main time I post they have been slim latley!
We were able to get out Monday to a late Valentine’s Tea Party. I don’t know who liked it better the kids or the moms! It was so pretty. My friend Jenny did a great job decorating and just the right mix of crafts and games for the girls. Lucy had a blast. Here are some pics.

Adoption Update
I thought since I hadn’t mentioned anything about our adoption I should give a little update. The update is that there isn’t much to update on! We have been viewed by several birth mothers who ended up choosing someone to parent their child but not us. Sometime this month (hopefully we will know soon when) we will be viewed by two different birthmoms. We continue to wait for God’s timing.
I have been thinking a lot on this text from Luke 18: And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. 3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
This has affected me in two ways – 1) Keep praying and don’t lose heart – I pray to a merciful, good God and 2) it’s made me pray more for His justice – in doing so I have been asking Him to refine my desires for adoption. I don’t think it’s wrong that one of my chief one’s is wanting another child but I feel He is adding more to it. Maybe tomorrow I’ll write about what some of those things are!

A Beach Party
Yesterday I was getting out Lucy’s swimsuit to see if it still fit her b/c she is going to go swimming at Auntie’s this weekend. Well she did not want to take it off and wanted to have a beach party. She has a pretty good imagination- she got the towels out, put her swimsuits on her bear- they laid out and went swimming.

Lucyism
My new favorite expression from Lucy.
gotfor – means forgot
I’ll give you a few examples.
Mom, I gotfor my purse.
But Mom, I gotfor give Dad a hug and kiss. (when I’m putting her to bed).
Yes we love it. No we don’t correct it!

Two Ryan’s and a Lucy walk into a Red Lobster …
Last night we met my sister’s family, my cousin Chad and his daughter and my Mom and Al at Red Lobster. Boy Ryan, Girl Ryan and Lucy were all thrilled to see each other. Or I should say Boy Ryan and Lucy were thrilled to see Girl Ryan- she seemed happy but not quite as excited as them- they kind of mobbed her. It was pretty cute. I wish I had gotten a picture.
A good time was had by all and you can’t beat those Red Lobster biscuits! Of course Dustin was home working on his sermon so he missed out.
