Great Christmas Album
A couple of years ago my friend Sonja gave me the cd Behold the Lamb of God by Andrew Peterson. It is my favorite one to listen to at Christmas time. So Long Moses is my favorite song.

Our Christmas Tree
Well we gave in and put it up. Hey at least I waited longer than my sister and Tonya! We had lots of fun doing it. Lucy was very into all the ornaments. I realized how fun it is to say who gave what ornaments. My Grandma made us an ornament every year for at least 18 years so we have all those. Then we have many in recent years from other friends and family. Anyone have any ideas of one I could make with her this year? This morning she was down there right away singing in front of the tree and looking at all of them again.

Thanksgiving
Happy eid al shukar everyone! That is Happy Thanksgiving in Arabic, probably my transliteration is wrong but most of you don’t know that! We are off to West Bend today to my Dad’s house. We are bringing our friend Hakim. Hopefully he will enjoy small town Iowa! I am looking forward to doing some shopping on Friday- they have some really cute shops there.

Arlene
My Grandma Arlene passed away yesterday. My sister wrote a nice memorial on her blog. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed by many.

Reading
As I have said before on this blog I really love to read children’s books! I recently got Honey for a Child’s Heart and read it straight through. It is a great resource to have for your family. She talks about how reading impacted her family and then at the end suggests books for different ages of children. A few things she really stresses are reading out loud with your kids, reading out loud as a family and reading the classics. She also talks about how alot of the Disney books/movies are great classics that in some ways (not always) have basically been dumbed down. Don’t get me wrong I am not a Disney snob but it has made me want to see the originals! Well that is my suggested resource for the day! I will be sharing more about the books I read off the list.
