A Blue Fairy?

When I was a little girl my mom had a picture in her bedroom of a woman holding a baby. I thought that woman was so beautiful and I thought that woman was my mom. Now everytime I read this book to Lucy she says about the blue fairy, that’s you mom. Yes, I love it! Or do you think it’s just because it looks like the fairy is disciplining the fox?! Never thought of that until now!

Ramadan

Right now it is the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims across the world. Here is a definition from Wikpedia. Maybe I can have one of my Muslim friends write a post on it – to better describe it! رمضان, Ramaḍān) is an Islamic religious observance that takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Fasting takes place from sunrise to sunset and the month ends with a 3 day celebration.

We had some friends over last Friday night to celebrate. It was a fun time.

A Visit from Magsie Do!

You would never know from this picture but Lucy was just a super crab the whole time Maggie was at our house! They had fun in their purple dresses though.

Zoe

We got to see my niece Zoe this weekend. She had grown so much just since my brother’s wedding in August. She’s the most laid back baby in the world she hardly makes a peep.

Lucyisms

Lucy says some pretty funny things. Maybe you have to hear her say them but they just crack me up. Here are some of the most recent things.

driverscrewer- her name for a screwdriver
bikeride- it’s never just a bike. For example: look at that bikeride mom!
all with myself- instead of all by myself
car about movies- anytime she sees anything related to that movie, she says Look mom,
it’s car about movies, she just can’t switch the words around!

Down For the Count

That is how I felt yesterday! I wasn’t sure if I was going to see the light of day again! Just kidding it wasn’t that bad but almost! I had sinus surgery last Thursday and I quote the Dr. “simple procedure, in and out in one hour, most people don’t even take the pain meds.” So two days after the surgery I am wondering is it normal to feel like your head is going to explode?! Long story short after becoming very ill Monday I went to the ER on the nurse’s advice. After getting hydrated, anti-nausea medicine and some morphine I started to feel a lot better. They did a cat scan and I have a sinus infection- the very thing the surgery is suppose to prevent. I guess it’s pretty common after a sinus surgery so usually a Dr. just prespcribes an antibiotic- for some reason my Dr. didn’t- I will ask him about that tomorrow. So now that the antibiotic has kicked in I am feeling much better just a bit tired. One funny thing is the nurse at the ER was sympathetic- almost too sympathtic. As he was putting some medicine in my IV he said, “you have suffered so much, you shouldn’t have to suffer anymore”! I was a little scared and thinking inside please, don’t kill me! Anyway I get a good laugh when I think about it!
